> First, revealing person and dharma: that which can penetrate the dust mote is the person; that which is understood in the dust mote is the dharma. This person and dharma become manifest through their mutual dependence: only through the person can the dharma be revealed; through the dharma the person is functionally present. A treatise states: "Through the person one knows that there is dharma; through the dharma one knows that there is a person. Apart from the person, how could there be dharma? Apart from the dharma, how could there be a person?" Now, because the person is without marks, they are precisely the person who reveals the dharma; because the dharma lacks intrinsic nature, it is precisely the dharma that brings about the person. They are two and yet not two, not two and yet two.
