> Eighth, performing Buddha-works: this means that the dust mote's sounds, voices, and letters are all completely divorced from intrinsic nature, which is liberation. These letters without intrinsic nature are phenomena that are non-phenomena, because they are empty and non-existent, manifested by the Buddha's wisdom. Whatever is performed does not depart from the dharmadhātu, which is precisely Buddha-works. The sūtra says: "Whatever is performed is nothing other than Buddha-works."
