> Ninth, opening the five eyes: this means that the dust mote's form without intrinsic nature is the physical eye; the dust mote being a phenomenon of pratītyasamutpāda is the Dharma eye; the dust mote's nature being empty and therefore non-existent is the wisdom eye; the dust mote having no marks to be grasped, putting to rest all conceptualizations and dual views, is called the divine eye; the dust mote's nature being empty and tranquil, with no marks to be grasped, dependent and primary being unobstructed, thoughts and kalpas interpenetrating, existence and non-existence being equal, is called the Buddha eye. However, one cannot see the dust mote with the five eyes; names are merely established according to what manifests at the site of the dust mote.
