> Sixth is the gate of phenomena hiding principle, which means that the true principle accords with conditions to form phenomenal entities; but since these phenomenal entities run contrary to principle, phenomena are manifested while principle does not appear. It is like water forming waves: movement is manifested while calmness is hidden. The sūtra says: 'The dharmakāya, cycling through the five destinies, is called a sentient being.' Therefore, when sentient beings appear, the dharmakāya does not appear.
