- **Language:** Classical Chinese

### [1.39](https://indike.org/pramana/in.bauddha.taisho.1883.1.39)

> Commentary: This gate also has two parts: first, explaining the fourth \[phrase\]; second, concluding by analogizing to all phenomena. The first part also has three: first, stating \[the proposition\]; second, explaining it. The words "Because it is the principle of dharmas being without self," and so forth, state the reason. Selflessness is emptiness; because this emptiness of dharmas is the selflessness of dharmas, emptiness is form. Third, "Therefore emptiness is form" concludes this gate. Second, from "Just as emptiness and form are thus" downward, it concludes by raising the four gates above as an analogy. If emptiness is form, then analogizing from this, emptiness is all phenomena; how much more so is it not that which is relied upon in the ten pairs?
