- **Language:** Classical Chinese

### [2.17](https://indike.org/pramana/in.bauddha.taisho.1885.2.17)

> The great ocean lets the fish leap; / The vast sky allows the birds to fly.
> The meaning is: Emptiness is true emptiness, which does not obstruct illusory form; form is illusory form, which does not obstruct true emptiness. Therefore it is called unobstructed. This, regarding the contemplating wisdom, shines upon both existence and nonexistence; regarding the contemplated object, interfuses both the real and the conventional. Being non-dual yet dual, it manifests form and emptiness; being dual yet non-dual, it clarifies their unobstructedness. Using this as a gate, it gives rise to contemplative wisdom and establishes the understanding that proceeds to practice.
