大記云：緣起一言乃至何須多門等者，起此問意。初標真性，示緣起體。即無分別理已現了手，何煩更說中即等多門耶？如是問也。答：具縱奪，文現可知。問：何不釋六門而問答耶？答：第六門者總結上意故，釋五門其義已盡故也。了手者，事畢之言也。

> The Great Record says: The intention of raising the question from "The single phrase 'pratītyasamutpāda' up to why must there be many approaches?" and so forth: First, it points to the true nature and reveals the substance of pratītyasamutpāda. Since the non-conceptual principle has already been completed, why trouble to explain further the multiple approaches such as "middle" and "identical"? Such is the question. Answer: It fully contains concession and refutation; the text is evident and can be known. Question: Why are the six approaches not explained before asking and answering? Answer: The sixth approach generally concludes the previous meanings; therefore, by explaining the five approaches, its meaning is already exhausted. "Completed" (liaoshou) is a phrase meaning the business is finished.
