> He also asked me, saying: "The establishment of ordination platforms is something valued by the Buddha. The single monastery of the Jetavana abruptly established three platforms. Two were located in the Buddha's courtyard, ascended only by the Buddha, for assembling the Buddhas. Discussing the ascension of the platform, it was for the monks and nuns to receive the precepts. The one platform in the monks' courtyard was for those receiving the full ordination, adorned with rows of grottos resembling a Mount Sumeru throne, guarded without defect by spirit-king stone pillars, extending downward to the water edge, remaining submerged through kalpas without sinking. In the east of Northern India, there is a stone platform whose form is grand and magnificent; on what basis does the Master now specifically erect the platform's form? Devas in the unseen and visible realms alike praise and rejoice in it."
