> "Immeasurable": discriminating and assessing, suffering has immeasurable marks. That is, the suffering of even one dharmadhātu is already so manifold, how much more so the ten dharmadhātus? They are various and manifold, neither known nor seen by the wisdom or eyes of the two vehicles; it is only what bodhisattvas can clearly comprehend. That is, the diverse and manifold distinctions of the hells—stripping, flaying, hacking, slicing, burning, boiling, mincing, and cutting—are already manifold beyond calculation; how much more so the various forms, sensations, perceptions, volitions, and consciousnesses of the other realms? Could they ever be exhausted, any more than the sands of dust or the drops of the ocean? Hence they are not known or seen by the two vehicles; only the bodhisattva's eye of wisdom can penetrate them.
