- **Language:** Classical Chinese

### [2.46](https://indike.org/pramana/in.bauddha.taisho.1911.2.46)

> This sūtra is open to the confession of people of the three vehicles: if one tames and delivers oneself, slaying the thieves of defilement, one becomes an arhat; if one has abundant merit and sharp faculties, contemplating avidyā, karmic formations, and so forth, one accomplishes the pratyekabuddha path; if one gives rise to great compassion, one's body becomes like lapis lazuli, one sees Buddhas in the pores of one's skin, attains the Śūraṅgama \[samādhi\], and abides in non-retrogression. Mahāyāna sūtras have types of this kind, such as the repentance of the seven Buddhas and eight bodhisattvas, or Ākāśagarbha's smearing the latrine for eight hundred days; such as these are all subsumed under \[the samādhi of\] following one's own mind (and so forth).
