- **Language:** Classical Chinese

### [3.212](https://indike.org/pramana/in.bauddha.taisho.1911.3.212)

> Chapter Six says: "An ordinary person is like milk; a srotaāpanna is like curd; a sakṛdāgāmin is like fresh butter; an anāgāmin is like clarified butter; an arhat, a pratyekabuddha, and a Buddha are like ghee." The Mahāprajñāpāramitopadeśa says: "In the śrāvaka sūtras, an arhat is termed the Buddha-ground." Therefore, the three persons are equally ghee. Does this analogy not explain the five flavors in the Tripiṭaka? The meaning of the gradual and perfect is established in accordance with this.
