- **Language:** Classical Chinese

### [3.50](https://indike.org/pramana/in.bauddha.taisho.1911.3.50)

> When ceasing the two extremes: the two characteristics of birth and death and of nirvāṇa both cease—this is the meaning of ceasing. Entering the prajñā of principle is called abiding, focusing the mind on the middle way—this is the meaning of resting. This principle of true reality is neither calming nor non-calming—this is the meaning of non-calming calming. These three meanings together constitute the characteristic of the calming of ceasing the two extremes. Therefore, they are entirely different from the former, and are also not what is used now.
