- **Language:** Classical Chinese

### [3.78](https://indike.org/pramana/in.bauddha.taisho.1911.3.78)

> As for how their characteristics differ: the former has the characteristic of a single truth, while the present has the characteristic of the three truths. Furthermore, the former three contemplations generally constitute the latter three, and the latter three possess the former three. Why is this? As in entering emptiness from the provisional, piercing the boulders of the four entrenchments—is this not the meaning of penetration? The emptiness that is entered is itself principle; wisdom can reveal principle, which is the meaning of reaching penetration through contemplation; this principle of emptiness is itself the meaning of non-contemplation contemplation. These three meanings together constitute the characteristics of the contemplation of entering emptiness.
