- **Language:** Classical Chinese

### [4.46](https://indike.org/pramana/in.bauddha.taisho.1911.4.46)

> Third, explaining the marks of violating the precepts: destroying and eliminating pure precepts does not go beyond delusion, craving, and inverted views; these are the enemies of precepts, compared to two rākṣasas. The Great Sūtra says: "For example, a person carrying a buoyant float crosses the great ocean. At that time, in the ocean there is a rākṣasa who comes to beg for the float. At first he begs for the whole, and so on down to a minute particle of dust, but none at all is given." The practitioner is also like this: giving rise to the aspiration to maintain the precepts, vowing to cross the great ocean of birth and death, while the rākṣasas of craving and views beg for the float of precepts.
