> Clouds are a metaphor for manifesting the body; thunder is a metaphor for preaching the Dharma; lightning is a metaphor for emitting light; rain is a metaphor for loving-kindness and compassion. In this way, the three karmas cause what sentient beings see to be distinct. Question: What is the difference between adornment and establishment? Answer: Both are the inconceivable three wisdoms in a single mind. Being able to adorn the dharma-body is called adornment; externally benefiting others is called establishment. Thus the \*Lotus\* says: 'Adorned with the power of concentration and wisdom, by this one delivers sentient beings.' Delivering sentient beings is establishment. The synthesis is as in the text.
