- **Language:** Classical Chinese

### [1.38](https://indike.org/pramana/in.bauddha.taisho.1916.1.38)

> "Dhyāna is a treasury of sharp wisdom, / a field of merit for virtues; / dhyāna is like pure water, / able to wash away the dust of desires; / dhyāna is vajra armor, / able to ward off the arrows of affliction. / Although one has not yet attained the unconditioned, / a share of nirvāṇa has already been obtained. / Attaining the vajra-samādhi, / one crushes the mountain of fetters. / Attaining the power of the six supernormal knowledges, / one can deliver immeasurable people. / When clamorous dust obscures the sun in the sky, / heavy rain can quench it; / when the wind of vitarka and vicāra stirs it, / dhyāna-concentration can extinguish it."
