> Furthermore, when the practitioner abides in this contemplation, they can see one skeleton, or they can see skeletons everywhere throughout the four continents; this is called 'many'. Again, withdrawing their mindfulness, they contemplate one skeleton; hence it is called mastering knowledge and mastering vision. Because they can master at will the signs of the five desires, males and females, and cleanliness, it is called a station of mastery. Moreover, they can skillfully tame the contemplating mind: although knowing that the nature of the contemplating mind is nonexistent, yet they turn freely among objects and contemplate all realms without obstruction; hence it is called a station of mastery. These meanings are explained broadly in the Mahāyāna \[treatise\].
