> What are the characteristics of concealing and generating? When a practitioner keeps the precepts, they can generate dhyāna-samādhi; breaking the precepts conceals dhyāna-samādhi. Because a practitioner keeps the mundane precepts purely, mundane dhyāna is generated; if one keeps the mundane precepts impurely, mundane dhyāna is concealed. Regarding supramundane precepts and supramundane highest precepts: keeping them generates dhyāna, and violating them conceals dhyāna; they are differentiated analogously in this way.
