> Answer: Speaking from the predominant perspective, all māra-affairs mostly enter through the five sense faculties; therefore, only the five sense faculties are mentioned. If discussed and examined with subtlety, the mental faculty is also not without the three kinds of disturbing affairs, which can be known by analogy. Furthermore, in various Mahāyāna sūtras, the various illusions and deceptions among the six sense objects are distinguished, and the manifestations of māra-affairs arising in confrontation with the mental faculty are extensively explained therein. Therefore the Pañcaviṃśatisāhasrikā Prajñāpāramitā Sūtra states: 'If one does not explain and teach such māra-affairs and māra-transgressions, know that this person is an evil spiritual friend to the bodhisattva.'
