### [6.35](https://indike.org/pramana/in.bauddha.taisho.1916.6.35)

> Regarding "without ill will, without malice, without enmity, without affliction": toward sentient beings, whether with a cause or without a cause, the initial arising is called anger; when anger increases, deliberates, and is harbored in the mind without being resolved, this is called malice, and also called enmity; if the mind is already settled, without fear or hesitation, wishing to harm others, this is called affliction. Eliminating, abandoning, and separating from these three matters through the power of the benevolent mind is called being without anger, without malice, without enmity, and without affliction. This being without anger, without malice, without enmity, and without affliction praises the merit of the benevolent mind.
