> 'A mind accompanied by sympathetic joy' means: after the practitioner has entered the absorption of compassion, their mind pities all sentient beings who have been oppressed by all kinds of suffering and vexation throughout the long night: 'How can I rescue them, causing these sentient beings to attain happiness from suffering, and from happiness to give rise to delight and joy?' At that time, they contemplate deeply: 'Although sentient beings experience suffering and vexation, this suffering is unreal; originally non-existent, it now exists, and it can easily be eliminated. Why is this? Just as when a person has the suffering of illness, if they encounter good medicine, they immediately recover, and if they are further provided with clothing and food, their joy and happiness will be immeasurable.
