> Now, as for what is called the internal realm, it is the Tathāgata appearing in the world and extensively expounding the characteristics of the names and concepts of all doctrinal gates in order to transform sentient beings. Within the settled mind, when practitioners wish to know the characteristics of the primary correspondences of the Buddha's doctrinal gates, they immediately perceive them through the power of samādhi, wisdom, and wholesome roots. How does one know that what the Buddha taught as the meaning of the five precepts corresponds to the five viscera? This is already as explained before; the four great elements, five aggregates, twelve sense bases, eighteen elements, four truths, and twelve links of dependent origination are all within the human body. One immediately knows that this meaning of the four great elements corresponds to the five viscera: wind corresponds to the liver, fire corresponds to the heart, water corresponds to the kidneys, and earth corresponds to the lungs and spleen.
