> Third is the immeasurable mind of sympathetic joy. Celebrating others' attainment of happiness and generating a joyful mind is called 'sympathetic joy'. When a practitioner in meditative absorption thinks of sentient beings to make them leave suffering, attain happiness, and rejoice, meditative absorption arises among the mental factors; this is called the meditative absorption of sympathetic joy. This mind associated with sympathetic joy is free of anger, free of hatred, free of enmity, and free of vexation; when skillfully cultivated and realized, it is vast, immeasurable, and pervades the ten directions; this is the immeasurable mind of sympathetic joy.
