Answer: It is truly as you ask; however, while identical, they are not identical. Although that which is realized is identical, the great and the small, the skillful and the crude are forever different. These two teachings are teachings within the realms. The Tripitaka is small and crude within the realms: it does not connect to the great, hence it is small; it analyzes form to enter emptiness, hence it is crude. Although the three types of persons within this teaching differ as superior, middling, and inferior, when compared to the three types of persons of the shared \[teaching\] they are all uniformly of dull faculties; hence they must analyze and destroy. The shared teaching, then, is great and skillful within the realms: "great" means the entry gate of the Mahāyāna; "skillful" means embodying form to enter emptiness.
