> Universally on behalf of sentient beings of the dharmadhātu, we fully vow to eradicate the three obstacles, take refuge, and repent. (Having chanted this, throw the five limbs to the ground, and again reflect in mind: "From the beginningless \[past\] until now, I and sentient beings, because of craving and views, internally calculated self and other; externally associated with evil friends; did not rejoice in the slightest good of others; exclusively pervaded the three karmas in widely committing myriad sins; though the acts were not vast, the evil mind was ubiquitous; continuing day and night without interruption; concealing faults and not wanting others to know; not fearing the evil destinies; lacking shame and lacking remorse; denying cause and effect. Therefore today I deeply believe in cause and effect, generate profound shame and remorse, generate great dread, openly disclose and repent, sever the continuous mind, generate the bodhicitta, sever evil and cultivate good, diligently spur the three karmas, overturn previous grave faults, rejoice in the slightest good of ordinary people and sages, and be mindful that the Buddhas of the ten directions possess great blessings and wisdom and are able to rescue me and all sentient beings, placing us from the sea of the two types of death onto the shore of the three virtues. From the beginningless \[past\], not knowing that all dharmas are by original nature empty and quiescent, we widely committed myriad evils. Now knowing emptiness and quiescence, for the sake of seeking bodhi and for the sake of sentient beings, we widely cultivate myriad goods and completely sever myriad evils." May Avalokiteśvara compassionately gather us in.)
