> Question: If the two lands, pure and impure, are in the same place: although the characteristics of these two lands differ as pearls or rubble, purity or impurity, are they not all formed by the composite of the eight subtleties—the four dusts of form, odor, taste, and tangibility, and the four great elements that create them, earth, water, fire, and wind—having obstruction as their nature? How could it be that in the same place at the same time the various subtleties do not obstruct each other, destroying the nature of matter and its capacity for spatial obstruction? Since the dharmas are contradictory, it is difficult to explain the meaning consistently. Please remove this impediment to reveal the subtle words.
