> Question: A sūtra states, "Internally there are the evil three poisons, and externally they attract spirits, ghosts, and māras." Now you say, "Through buddhānusmṛti-samādhi one attains the sight of Amitābha, and at the time of death, the Buddha together with the assembly of sages comes holding a flower to welcome them." Since one is a pṛthagjana possessing the evil three poisons, how could this not be spirits, ghosts, and māras?
