> Answer: The mind is the master of karma and the root that pulls one into birth. The mind at the verge of death is like eyes: it can guide all karmas. If the mind at the verge of death is evil, it can lead all evil karma and cause birth in the evil destinies; if the mind at the verge of death is good, it can lead all good karma and cause birth in the good destinies. For example, when a dragon moves, the clouds follow it. If the mind departs toward the west, karma likewise follows it. This is the text of the sūtras and treatises.
