In it lived a blind old mother whose surname was Liang. After three years, both of her eyes opened. Having regained her sight, she redoubled her chanting and mindfulness. When four more years were completed, her karmic retribution in Jambudvīpa was exhausted. At the time of relinquishing her life, the entire village together saw buddhas and bodhisattvas descending with banners, pennants, and jeweled canopies to welcome her, whereupon she passed away. The entire village revered her, considering her to be extraordinary, and thus did not permit her to be buried, but together erected a stūpa for her to the west of the village.
