> Śākya Zhiyuan of Puzhao Cloister in Haiyan, Xiuzhou, when his mother died, placed her remaining bones in a small casket. Daily he recited the Vairocana Consecration Mantra, empowering earth and sand and covering the bones with it, until it reached almost a foot deep. One day, the parietal bone suddenly welled up onto the surface of the soil. At first he did not think much of it and covered it again as before. The next day it was like this again, and the assembly was completely astonished. At that time, Duke Quan of Wuyi composed a record to spread word of the event, and Vinaya Master Dazhi composed a eulogy to praise it. The text appears in the \*Zhiyuan Ji\*.
