> How does it receive immeasurable names? To state the essentials, this mind-nature is variously named the empty Tathāgatagarbha, or the true-suchness Buddha-nature, or the amala-consciousness, or the great round mirror-like wisdom, or bodhi and nirvāṇa. The nature's essence and nature's measure are called the empty Tathāgatagarbha, which means the ten realms, five aggregates, and lands contained in the nature are named the empty Tathāgatagarbha. The nature's essence and nature's measure are called the true-suchness Buddha-nature, which means what is contained in the nature and so forth are the true-suchness Buddha-nature. The nature's essence and nature's measure are called the amala-consciousness, which means what is contained in the nature and so forth are called the amala-consciousness. The nature's essence and nature's measure are called the great round mirror-like wisdom, which means what is contained in the nature and so forth are called the great round mirror-like wisdom. The nature's essence and nature's measure are called bodhi and nirvāṇa, which means what is contained in the nature and so forth are called bodhi and nirvāṇa. Therefore it is said: 'Within the one true Dharma-nature, the ten Dharma-realms are completely contained. Dependent and primary \[retributions\] are originally interfused; sentient beings and Buddhas are of no different tenor.'
