- **Language:** Classical Chinese

### [1.46](https://indike.org/pramana/in.bauddha.taisho.1986a.1.46)

> Shushan asked: "How is it when in all places there is no discord?" The Master said: "Ācārya, this is an affair on the side of merit. Fortunately, there is merit without effort; why do you not ask about that?" \[Shushan\] said: "Is not merit without effort the person on that other side?" The Master said: "Many people would laugh at you for asking in such a way." \[Shushan\] said: "If so, then is one far off and secluded?" The Master said: "Secluded, not secluded, not non-secluded." \[Shushan\] said: "What is being secluded?" The Master said: "To call him a person of that side will not do." \[Shushan\] said: "What is being not secluded?" The Master said: "There is nowhere to distinguish."
