> The Master called upon Upādhyāya Guti. Guti said, "Go away! You have no buddhadhātu!"
> The Master folded his hands, stepped forward three paces, and answered, "Yes?"
> Guti smiled and said, "Son! Where did you attain this samādhi?"
> The Master said, "From Danyuan I obtained the name, and from Guishan I obtained the ground."
> Guti said, "Might you not be a true son of Guishan?"
> The Master said, "In terms of conventional truth, it is not absent; but in terms of the Buddhadharma, I would not dare \[claim it\]."
> The Master then asked, "Where did the Upādhyāya attain this samādhi?"
> Guti said, "I attained this samādhi from Zhangjing."
> The Master sighed and said, "Inconceivable! Those who come find it hard to approach."
