> Ascending the hall on account of snow, he cited: "A monk asked Yunmen, 'When not a single thought arises, is there still any fault or not?' Yunmen said, 'Mount Sumeru.'" The Master said, "Sometimes when monks are asked, one raises a finger, another steps forward, another gives a shout, or another shakes his sleeves and leaves. Venerables, not yet! Why? Taiping has never made a flurry of snow fall on you people during the second or third month! Now, if a fellow were to come out and say, 'Old monk, do not be topsy-turvy—look, isn't it falling right now?'" He then extended his hands and said, "Finished."
