- **Language:** Classical Chinese

### [2.37](https://indike.org/pramana/in.bauddha.taisho.1996.2.37)

> Deeply I recall Shaoyang displaying marvellous lines; / Ancient people, reaching this point, still did not stay. / Zong the Chan practitioner once laid out a course of ninety thousand \[miles\]; / I think of the Seven Min \[regions\] where he walks alone again. / Suddenly coming to knock at the gate amid layered crags, / He called his solitary trace a broken cloud. / Though leaving the snowy courtyard far behind brings many regrets, / For now we share the moon of the central peak. (This line was composed by Chan practitioner Zong on the day he departed the mountain.) / Such generosity is not born of hope; / Before the vast, pure wind there is nowhere to hide. / Known or unknown in heaven above and heaven below, / How could it be merely the five petals and a thousand lamps?
