- **Language:** Classical Chinese

### [3.101](https://indike.org/pramana/in.bauddha.taisho.1996.3.101)

> He cited: "The Patriarch said: 'The six sense objects are not bad; they are the same as true awakening.' The staff is a sense object; what fault does it have? Since there is no fault, one ought to distinguish the host. Therefore it is said: 'Upon the heap of dung and sweepings, manifest the sixteen-foot golden body'—set that aside for a moment. 'Upon the clump of red flesh, precipitous for a thousand cubits'—let that move pass again. Even if open on all eight sides and four directions, he deserves to be beaten along with the frame!"
