### [7.40](https://indike.org/pramana/in.bauddha.taisho.1997.7.40)

> Ascending the hall, he said: "'Gathered together from the ten directions'—fundamentally the body is not obscured. 'Each and every one learns non-action'—striking with tongs and hammer upon the crown of the head. 'This is the place of selecting Buddhas'—deep and vast, it cannot be measured. 'The mind empty, one passes the examination and returns'—a sharp sword is not as sharp as an awl. Layman Pang's tongue propped up the Brahma Heaven, and his mouth swallowed the four seas. At times he took a blade of grass to be the sixteen-foot golden body; at times he took the sixteen-foot golden body to be a blade of grass. Extremely extraordinary! Even so, he ultimately never touched the transcendent barrier. What is the transcendent barrier? Cast the seal and build the high altar."
