> Ascending the hall, he cited: "Panshan said: 'The mind moon is solitary and round; its light swallows the myriad forms. The light does not illuminate objects, nor do objects exist. When light and objects are both extinguished, what is it again?' Dongshan said: 'When light and objects are not yet extinguished, what is it again?'" The Master said: "White egrets descend to the field, a thousand flecks of snow; yellow orioles alight on the tree, a single branch of blossoms."
