- **Language:** Classical Chinese

### [2.27](https://indike.org/pramana/in.bauddha.taisho.1998a.2.27)

> Ascending the hall, he took up his staff, showed it to the assembly, and said, "Deluded people call this a staff; awakened people also call this a staff. Although there is a difference between delusion and awakening, what is seen is without difference. Since the seeing is without difference, let the deluded be deluded and let the awakened be awakened; it has nothing to do with this matter at all." Raising it up again, he said, "Right now it is raised up before all of your eyes: is it delusion? Is it awakening? Is it seeing? Is it not seeing? Is it different? Is it not different?" He gave a shout, tapped the staff once, and said, "Beginning all over again from the start."
