- **Language:** Classical Chinese

### [20.11](https://indike.org/pramana/in.bauddha.taisho.1998a.20.11)

> Venerable Dazhu said: 'The mind chasing after things is heterodox; things following the mind is orthodox.' Although this was an instance of dispensing medicine according to the illness, it inevitably set up a target that invited arrows. Now, if those who have not understood hear these words and do not doubt them, then Dazhu wasted his grandmotherly mind in vain; if those who have understood hear these words and do not doubt them, then both mind and things are redundant dharmas. Ultimately, how is it? Night travel is not permitted, yet you must arrive before dawn.
