> Instructing the assembly, \[the Master\] said: "Yongjia said: 'Wrong is not wrong, right is not right; an error of a hair's breadth misses by a thousand miles. If right, the dragon girl instantly attains buddhahood; if wrong, Sunakṣatra falls alive \[into hell\].' Yongjia personally met the Sixth Patriarch, yet in the end he remained only within 'right' and 'wrong'. Yunmen is not so: wrong is not wrong, right is not right; look up to view the sky, bow the head to peer at the earth. When awake, just be truly awake; when sleepy, sleep all the way through. There is neither buddhadharma to deliberate over, nor worldly toil to avoid. Sometimes startled awake in sleep—it turns out to be a cat catching a mouse."
