> Hanging the monastery plaque, ascending the hall: "The foremost move cuts off confusion; the Buddha's hand cannot block it; it serves as a model for past and present. Humans and devas mutually celebrate; the ancestral house radiates brilliance. Those coming from the south and coming from the north all enter through this gate; regular script and great seal script are none other than the tongs and hammer of the decree." Striking his staff once, he then addressed the great assembly: "Before heaven and earth were established, before the world had taken shape, tell me: where did this one move fall?" Then raising it up, he said: "Look, look! The sea god knows its value but knows not its price; it is left to the human world to illumine the night." Throwing down his staff, he descended from the seat.
