- **Language:** Classical Chinese

### [1.163](https://indike.org/pramana/in.bauddha.taisho.2000.1.163)

> He also cited: "Xuedou instructed the assembly: 'Longquan sword and knives and axes share the same iron, yet sharpness and dullness are far apart; a worn-out nag and a fine steed share the same road, yet slowness and speed differ. Clearly, clearly! Going out once and entering once, half-closed and half-open; those who lay it out flat, try distinguishing black from white.'"
> The master said, "Mingjue was the Dragon Gate of a whole generation, yet his mind of picking and choosing was not yet obliterated. This mountain monk equates the ordinary with the Path, bringing them together at a single glance. Why? It is urgent."
