> The master then cited: "Yunmen asked the head monk, 'Are the mountains, rivers, and the great earth identical to or distinct from oneself?'
> The head monk said, 'Identical.'
> Yunmen said, 'Are all living beings, flying moths, and small ants identical to or distinct from oneself?'
> The head monk said, 'Identical.'
> Yunmen said, 'I asked you politely; why meet me with shields and spears?'"
> The master said, "Yunmen is easy to see; the head monk is hard to see. Why so? Because he does not sit in the realm of non-change, he says 'identical.'"
