- **Language:** Classical Chinese

### [1.24](https://indike.org/pramana/in.bauddha.taisho.2001.1.24)

> Ascending the hall, he said: "Only when mind does not mind itself is it mind; only when the eye does not see the eye is it the eye. Magnificently without shadow or trace, distinctly beyond thinking. Light fills the circle; the hare conceives the night moon. Kingfisher-green lies across the sea; the rhinoceros horn rings the autumn mountain. One must reach the utmost profound subtlety before understanding the affair of taking it upon oneself. But tell me, what is the affair of taking it upon oneself? Where wisdom cannot reach, you must never speak of it."
