- **Language:** Classical Chinese

### [1.44](https://indike.org/pramana/in.bauddha.taisho.2001.1.44)

> Bathing the Buddha, ascending the hall, \[the Master\] said, "Pure and all-pervading—this is the water of the Dharma-nature. True enlightenment, numinous and bright—this is the body of the Dharma-nature. Joining with the water, it is the body, thereby manifesting the affair of pouring and ablution; the whole body is water, only then completing the occasion of parting from defilement. Right at this very moment, how do you distinguish them?" After a good while, he said, "As in pure lapis lazuli, within it appears a statue of true gold."
