- **Language:** Classical Chinese

### [1.93](https://indike.org/pramana/in.bauddha.taisho.2001.1.93)

> Ascending the hall, \[the Master\] said: "The mind has nowhere to lodge, the form has nothing to lean upon, the foot has nowhere to tread, words have nothing to convey. It cannot be seen and named; it cannot be grasped and speculated upon. The myriad phenomena equal its function; the great void shares its substance. The ultimate wandering is an immortal among kinds; the skillful response is an anomaly amid the dust. Therefore the Ancestral Master said: 'The storehouse of the mind-ground of true nature / Has neither head nor tail. / Responding to conditions, it transforms beings; / As an expedient, it is called wisdom.' And what is the expedient wisdom that responds to conditions and transforms beings? Do you understand? 'Do not blame me for frequently urging wine since sitting down; / Since parting, seeing you has been rare.'"
