> Ascending the hall, he said: “Vast and purified without bounds, wisdom accompanies it; universally responding without direction, spirit convenes with it. Wisdom being empty, it illuminates itself alertly; spirit acting, it continues unbroken without restraint. Then at all times and in all places, one can emit great light and perform great Buddha affairs. Therefore it is said: ‘Mountains and rivers offer no obstruction; light penetrates everywhere.’ And have you not seen it said: ‘If one wishes to enter the realm of Buddha, one should purify one's mind like empty space, leaving behind all appearances and all graspings, causing everywhere the mind turns to be unobstructed’? How does one practice to attain such accordance? The water and moon calmly face each other; the pine breeze is clear and does not cease.”
