- **Language:** Classical Chinese

### [4.131](https://indike.org/pramana/in.bauddha.taisho.2001.4.131)

> \[Hongzhi\] ascended the hall: "As leisurely as clouds, as empty as valleys. Responding skillfully without fixed direction: east, west, south, north. In the midst of the game, life and death—just as the path is lost, the axe handle rots away and one cannot return. If you are such a person: when it is time to go, then go; when it is time to stop, then stop. Going is just going like this, going nowhere to go; coming is just coming like this, coming nowhere to come. Do you understand? Raising high the black and white \[stones\], moves made beforehand, / Winning completely the mechanism of intersecting lines in all directions."
