- **Language:** Classical Chinese

### [1.39](https://indike.org/pramana/in.bauddha.taisho.2003.1.39)

> "The spring wind of the river country cannot stir it up; (Throughout the great earth where can this message be found? The pattern is already manifest.)
> Partridges cry amidst the deep blossoms. (What is the use of muttering? Swept away again by the wind into a different tune. How could there be such a thing?)
> Three tiers of waves rise high, and the fish turns into a dragon; (This single path is open. Better not hoodwink the great assembly. Stepping on the dragon's head.)
> Foolish men are still bailing out the night pond's water." (Clutching fences and feeling walls, knocking at gates and leaning on doors. What use has a patch-robed monk? Waiting by the tree stump for a hare.)
